Narcotics Anonymous in Israel

The first Israeli NA group started in Tel-Aviv in 1984 with only one meeting per week. Meetings were added until there was a meeting every day. Little by little through joint efforts, NA literature was translated into Hebrew. After a number of years, a second group was started in Jaffa. The growing process had begun. We have closed meetings for addicts only or those who think they might have a drugs problem, and open meetings in which anyone can take part.

Nowdays the Israel NA community is very well-established. There are now approximately 300 meetings per week all over Israel, meeting in more than 30 cities. NA also meets in treatment centers and in most of the country's prisons.
